Honoring His Legacy

The Michael A. Ruddo Foundation was established to honor the memory of a dear husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague who taught us all how to live life to its fullest. "Work hard, play hard" was a motto that Mike lived by personally and professionally, and he loved being surrounded by family and friends. During his six-month treatment for cancer, the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, was kind and gentle to Mike. As a tribute to his life, the Michael A. Ruddo Foundation aims to raise funds for the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center to assist them in their mission to provide both hope and a cure.

On May 15, 2009, the 1st Annual Mike A. Ruddo Golf Invitational was held to help fund that mission. Golf was one of the many sports Mike was passionate about, and this annual event is our way of remembering him while carrying on his legacy. Thanks to the generosity, support, and participation of family and good friends, the Michael A. Ruddo Foundation has raised $139,500 for the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center since its inception.

In December 2011, the Michael A. Ruddo Endowment Fund was created based on a strong partnership with the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center. The Endowment Fund enables a dollar-for-dollar match donation from the Beebe Medical Foundation for every Michael A. Ruddo Foundation donation until the matching funds are depleted. Because this Endowment Fund was retroactive, the total Michael A. Ruddo Foundation donation is $279,000. This endowment will allow the medical professionals at the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center to continue providing the same level of care and compassion they gave Mike during his cancer treatment. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support. Please join us this year as we continue our efforts with the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center towards the treatment and cure of cancer.

The Michael A. Ruddo Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
